David's Confidential
Doctor Who Confidential
have revealed the details of some future episodes of the series.
Episode 10, Do You
Remember The First Time?, which will air after the Doctor Who episode Blink, will be a very special episode with David's
own personal account of the making of the show:
Do you remember the
first time? - This week, David Tennant directs his very own Doctor Who Confidential. TV's top Time Lord has been given complete
control to film his own very personal account of the making of Doctor Who and to take a nostalgic voyage of discovery to find
out the secret behind the success of Doctor Who.
In this unique piece of television, David roams around the BBC, talking
to cast and crew and fans of the show, uncovering the secret behind the success of Doctor Who.
From BBC bosses through
to the Dead Ringers team, David is hunting for what makes Doctor Who so magical. He chats to the Daleks in the Blue Peter
Garden, and discusses with Mark Gatiss the joy of playing a Doctor Who monster in the Lazarus Experiment.
Head writer,
Russell T Davies and producer, Phil Collinson chat with David about how they've always had such fondness for the show and
how it inspired their creative drive. Executive producer Julie Gardner and drama commissioner Jane Tranter reveal how and
why the series was brought back and the unprecedented response it's had.
Stephen Moffat joins David on a hunt around
Television Centre, looking for the studios where the classic series was filmed. They end up on the set of Newsnight.
Confidential
also features exclusive backstage footage of Blink; one of the scariest episodes to date and candid chats with two of the
week's most prominent stars, Carey Mulligan and Finlay Robertson who talk to David about their experience working on the show
and on becoming part of the Doctor Who legacy.

Congratulations! David Wins Best Actor Award At Bafta Cymru!
David and a whole host of Doctor Who and Torchwood cast crew attended the Bafta Cymru Awards at Cardiff International
Arena last night and Doctor Who cleaned up after winning eight of the thirteen categories they were nominated for, which
included the Best Actor award for David and the Best Screenwriter award for Russell T Davies.
Doctor Who's accolades this year included: best lighting director - not camera; best editor; best original music soundtrack;
best make-up; best costume, and best director: drama.
On arriving at the event David, who was wearing a suit and summer shirt, said:
"I think I look suitably sartorially elegant. You've got to, haven't you, when you come to these posh dos? But I've just
actually seen a piece of paper with the e-mail on that says this is a black tie event. I hope they don't throw me out. I'll
have to borrow one from somebody else. If you see somebody sat on a table in an ill-fitting suit you'll know what's happened."
Doctor Who spin off Torchwood also walked away with an armful of accolades including Best Actress which went to Eve Myles.
BBC Wales Controller Meena Richards said "Congratulations to all of the winners. I'm very proud indeed of the success
of all those who've made such wonderful programmes for BBC Wales. It's great to see BAFTA Cymru recognising the talents of
all those who make programmes of the highest possible standards."

Doctor Who V Torchwood At Tomorrow's Bafta Cymru Awards
The great and the good will be at Cardiff International Arena tomorrow night to find out who has won the 2007 Bafta Cymru
Awards. Among them will be screenwriter Russell T Davies who will see his two hit dramas – Doctor Who and Torchwood
– go head-to-head in seven categories.
A you already know David has been nominated in the best actor category alongside his Doctor Who co star and Torchwood
leading man, John Barrowman.
The Western Mail take a look at who they think will win and why:
When Doctor Who returned to our screens in 2005, everyone wondered how an actor could possibly fill the shoes of previous
Timelords like Tom Baker, Jon Pertwee and Peter Davidson. Luckily Christopher Eccleston did just that – but promptly
left after one series. However, David Tennant was drafted in as his replacement and many feel that the Scottish actor is the
ultimate Doctor. One of the reasons was the great chemistry he had with Billie Piper as his assistant Rose. He’s also
bonded well with newcomer Freema Agyeman.
Before Torchwood even reached our screens, John Barrowman had proved popular as Captain Jack Harkness after the character
appeared in an episode of Doctor Who. In fact, he proved so popular that Russell T Davies decided to pen the spin-off. Just
like the Doctor, he takes on the alien world and has real chemistry with his team, especially Eve Myles as Gwen Cooper.
The verdict: “How do you choose? Once again this one is judged on the finales
of both series. John Barrowman was great. Although viewers thought he was immortal, in this particular episode you thought
he really could die. But I think David Tennant has the edge. It was the episode in which he said goodbye to Rose and it tugged
at my heart strings. He really is fantastic.”
Winner: David Tennant Doctor Who

"If you had to make a poll of monsters least likely to make a reappearance," grins David Tennant, "the Macra would probably
be fairly near the top!"
"So it's kind of cool, isn't it?" he tells Doctor Who Magazine as they go behind the scenes of Gridlock. "If you're gonna
do giant crabs, there's no point them being anything other than Macra, seeing as they already exist.
"It's one of the joys of being involved with a series which has got all this history for free. You can just sprinkle in
all these nuggets of recognition for those who'll get them."

Tennant Talks Extra
101 Things Didn't Know About Doctor Who
(Well you migh have done..)
ic Wales has a rather interesting article from today's Western Mail '101 Things You Didn't Know About Doctor Who'.
The facts range from the interesting: David Tennant and Freema Agyeman filmed the special trailers for series three on
their day off. It took eight hours to record a 40-second promo.
To the obvious: Torchwood, the show's spin-off, is an anagram of the words Doctor Who.
I'm sure a lot of fans will know all these facts already but for the newer Whovians it's a good way to swot up!
