David Tennant is set to appear in a new one-man play in Derry next
year as part of the city's 2013 City Of Culture celebrations.
Sea Lavender is written by local writer and director Andy Hinds and explores David's ancestral roots in
the city. David's grandmother, Nellie Blair was born in Derry while his grandfather, footballer Archie McLeod came over from
Glasgow to play for Derry City where he met Nellie. Other members of his family were involved in the local politics of the
20th Century. David explored his family heritage during an episode of the BBC's Who Do You Think You Are. Other acts set
to perform during the festival include, Snow Patrol, Cliff Richard and the London Symphony Orchestra. The city will also host
the 2013 Turner Prize.
